He Who Hesitates!

He who hesitates waits and waits and waits and gets nothing done. He who hesitates procrastinates; procrastination is the thief of time.

Hesitation equates to fear, usually of looking stupid or feeling a failure.

Hesitation comes in many situations, shapes and sizes.  It may happen when thinking of applying for a new job, starting that much awaited diet, looking for a new partner or perhaps trying out a new hobby for the first time.

Consider this however, you never fail at anything you simply learn new things, what works and what doesn’t, what you like and what you don’t! Would that make you less hesitant? What if by trying something new; your life changed forever for the better. Feelings of boredom and confusion replaced with confidence, accomplishment and achievement. Would you be willing to give it a try?

Firstly decide what it is that is not happening in your life at the moment, it may be something different from the suggestions above so choose your own.

Choose something that has been put off for some time, in fact there is never a good time to start. Decide now what it is about this activity or project that makes you hesitate. Picture in your mind how your life will be very different when you just get started. See what needs to be done in order to put the wheels in motion then “Go For It!” Think then of what it will feel like to have completed the tasks, how life will be different and more importantly how will you be feeing when it is done.

When you have had a look at this planning stage of the process, note down on a piece of paper all the steps needed to be taken to achieve this. At this stage place a time limit on the task/project; ensuring it’s a realistic one.

Now simply get started!

Ensure every evening before you go to sleep to have a look at the list, the purpose behind this is two fold:

Firstly note every step that has been achieved in the day in relation to the project/task, therefore motivating you to continue.

Secondly it gives your brain a look at the list daily, to ensure it knows what is required in order to secure success.

This process will ensure there is less hesitation in your life and many more successes.

JUST DO IT!
